Officials will send out instantaneous messages related to public safety matters only. Other important alerts designed for emergency business communication and for Port Authority riders can be accessed via the website.Dial 311 with Questions or ConcernsThe City's 311 hotline will expand its hours and staff to answer questions and concerns related to the G-20 summit and transportation safety plan. The enhanced hotline will launch Saturday, Sept. 19 and last until the following Saturday, Sept. 26. City residents may dial 311, but residents outside of the City must dial 412-255-2621.Concerned citizens may send questions or comments to Mayor Luke Ravenstahl's 311 Response Line. The hotline will be staffed by 311 operators, who will still be taking regular constituent calls. Supplemented staff will include City workers from the Mayor's Office, as well as support from the County and the Pittsburgh G-20 Partnership. Hours may increase as needed. Be Prepared for Travel InconveniencesPort Authority Riders:Get details about routes by visiting a special Web page at portauthority.org/g20, which offers detailed descriptions for each route and interactive maps showing the temporary bus routes in Downtown. Transfers will be possible as the routes loop into the same section of Downtown, meaning most transfers would require walking no more than a few blocks. Riders also may call Port Authority's Customer Service center at 412-442-2000, which will remain active during the Summit If you use ACCESS service:Service will be available during the Summit but officials recommend any trips to Downtown Pittsburgh should be rescheduled if possible. The ACCESS phone line will remain open during the summit, (412) 562-5353 or TDD relay 1-800-654-5984. Air TravelIf you are traveling on Sept. 24-25, allow extra time for travel. Pittsburgh International Airport will be open and operating throughout the course of the G-20 Summit. Allegheny County Airport in West Mifflin will also be open for general aviation operations. Information on any flight delays or temporary road restrictions due to the arrivals and departures of global leaders will be posted at www.FlyPittsburgh.com. |
